The Reverend Dr. John Stott was Rector Emeritus of All Souls Church, Langham Place in London, England, and had a worldwide ministry as a Bible expositor, speaker, and writer.



Roy McCloughry is a writer, lecturer, and researcher on Christian approaches to social issues. He has written a number of books including Living in the Presence of the Future and is chairman of Third Way magazine and a vice president of the Shaftesbury Society. He lectures in ethics and social theology at St John’s College, Nottingham.

In this lush book we can each become Ice Age travelers & prowl the caves, art, tools, & lives of an earlier, more mysterious world. Very little here on Welles' work as an actor (except in the film he also directed); some discussion on his radio work and incomplete films.

In any case, one of the very top books on Welles' work to date, most strongly recommended.. Barenboim cared, but was away most of the time, busy with his career. The Yearling, set in the scrubland of northern Florida a couple of decades after the Civil War, is the story of the Baxter family: little "Penny" Baxter, the father, a saintly figure who is wise, understanding, kind, brave, dutiful, stoic; Ory, the mother, whose essential goodness has been buried to some degree by endless toil and the death of several babies; and Jody, who is about 12 when the story begins, a good-natured sprite for whom nature is benevolent and everything is to be explored.
