If I lived in the US it would be going back to Amazon for a refund. But don't think of it as a diet -- think of it as a lifestyle change. There is no more point in the Princess's story than there is to a child running through the mud pretending to be a cowboy. Another of my favorite elements is that they that they have known each other for most of their lives so their attraction is understandable, a lot of early history is not necessary to the telling, the parents wanted to connect the two families but not the two "flawed" members. Finally, sudden expansions in land/population ratio experienced by other societies did not have take-off effects (such as the Qing's expansion of China's borders).
